No Spectators at Alert Level 2
Dear Parents/Caregivers, Students and Supporters
We are coming to the end of the Winter sports season, with many competitions holding semifinals and finals over the next fortnight.
As we presently remain at Alert Level 2, the Waikato Secondary Schools’ Sports Association has made the decision today that “NO SPECTATORS will be allowed at local school sport fixtures. This follows on from the decision and process we took in 2020 at Alert Level 2. The decision has also been made based on the challenges presented by the obligation to contact trace at venues, as well as the requirement to monitor and restrict numbers in both indoor (50) and outdoor (100) venues.” This is to take effect immediately.
We understand how disappointing this will be for all supporters who enjoy watching school sport.
For those who transport their son to our school venue, or to another school within the Waikato, please drop your son off outside the school and organise a time and place to pick him up after the game.
Thank you for your understanding at this challenging time for all schools.
Your support continues to be appreciated by all Hamilton Boys’ High School staff and students, as well as the many community and parent volunteers that contribute to our school’s co-curricular programme.
