Premier Sports Teams Results Round Up
HBHS sports teams and codes have been in winning form these few days, and our 1st XI Football team got us off to a very good start, beating St Peter's School Cambridge in a tight match to secure the Waikato Secondary Schools Challenge Shield (as pictured). HBHS found themselves on the wrong side of a 1 - 0 lead until late in the game when two quick goals put HBHS ahead, to finish with a 2 - 1 win. On Friday night our Senior Premier Basketball team was simply too strong for a hapless Cambridge side, and the result blew out to a monster 104 - 34 win. Things were much tighter on Saturday at the rugby, with the 1st XV just getting home over a big and strong Palmerston North Boys' High School 17 - 10. The 2nd XV had a slightly easier time, beating their counterparts 43 - 7. The winning continued on Sunday, with our Chess team competing in a much-reduced Waikato Regional Chess Competition. The team of Eushin Kang, Michael Lin, Max Stephens, and Nathanael Loy swept all before them, beating both St John's College and St Paul's Collegiate 4 - 0. They have now qualified for the National Championships to be held in the school holidays. Congratulations to all of our teams on such a successful weekend of competition.
Were you at the game? We would love any photos of our teams and boys in action. Please send them to wmoffitt@hbhs.school.nz with the team name in the subject line.
