Overseas students are welcome to apply for a place in the school throughout the year. Students should be academically successful and of good character. Tuition fees for 2010  are set at NZ$12,000 per annum plus a $500 administration fee. Uniform / stationery requirements are $600 and a medical / travel insurance policy (1 year) $470. International students are accommodated either with a suitable family in a homestay arrangement ($200 per week for full board), or at the school hostel ($9,600 + $1,150 holiday Homestay fees). The Dean of international students is the link between school, the student and his home. Hamilton Boys' High School is a signatory to the Ministry of Education's "Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students."

If you are considering submitting an application, the following information will be required:

  • A copy of the student's passport
  • A copy of his most recent report
  • A letter of recommendation from his current school
  • A letter written by the student (in English) stating his interests, achievements and career plans.
  • A current medical certificate
