Sam Ratima selected for New Zealand Junior Men's Water Polo team

Year 13 student Sam Ratima has been selected as a member of the New Zealand Junior Men's Water Polo Team to attend the FINA World Championships, in Kuwait from December 12th to December 20th, 2019.

Sam was also named in the New Zealand Schoolboys Water Polo Trialling Squad, but due to this being a direct clash with World Junior Championship (Kuwait) and the Schools Test Series (Australia), he will be attending the World Champs.

The event will be staged in Kuwait between the 12th - 20th of December.

The young Kiwis will play Brazil, Greece, Australia and Americas 4 (yet to be announced) in group play.

The men have three training camps remaining, including a team-building camp over Labour Weekend and a three-test series versus the New Zealand Senior Men’s Team in November.  The New Zealand Men depart for Singapore on the 2nd of December where they will be training with the Singapore National Men’s Team as well as with one of the Australian National League Teams on their way to the World Championships.

We congratulate Sam on this achievement and look forward to following his progress at the end of the year.
