Saveen Gunarathne is presented with the Grand Priors Award

Year 13 student Saveen Gunarathne was recently presented with the Grand Priors Award by the Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy, for services to the Order of St John.  This award is given to recognise six years of service and involves having to gain 12 badges, including first aid, drill, community awareness, and leadership.  In order to gain this award 100 hours of community service is required and involves being part of first aid teams at events such as the AIMS Games and the New Zealand Touch Nationals. The Grand Priors Award is the highest award a youth member can achieve, and we congratulate Saveen on this achievement.
