School Production
Each year, HGHS and HBHS combine to stage a major production, providing a unique opportunity for the two schools to collaborate on a large-scale project. Responsibility for the production, and the choice of show alternates yearly between the schools. The 2025 production, hosted by HBHS, was Blood Brothers by Willy Russell. We are planning our next production in 2027 to be Bugsy Malone.
Theatre Sports, Super 8, and Shakespeare Festival
Theatresports continues to thrive at Hamilton Boys’ High School. Our talented group of Year 9–13 students dedicate themselves to regular rehearsals each week, developing teamwork, creativity, and quick-thinking performance skills.Â
Our junior and senior teams proudly represent the school in the Waikato Theatresports Regional Competition, winning the Waikato Secondary Schools Theatresports Competition in 2025.Â
We also compete in the Super 8 Cultural Festival and the SGCNZ Shakespeare Festival.
