Fees

Argyle House has been established solely for the benefit of the residential students at Hamilton Boys’ High School. The fees for 2025 are $14,400.00 (including GST) plus a Building Levy of $410. The fees are subject to annual review by the BOT. For all new enrolments a deposit of $1,500 is required to be paid by Week 1 of Term 4. This is refunded when your son leaves the hostel provided there are no outstanding fees. The fees are payable in 8 equal instalments commencing January.

In the event of withdrawal from the hostel, it is required that a term’s notice be given in writing to the Secretary of the Board of Trustees. Otherwise one term’s fees will be payable in lieu of such notice.

Bursary Eligibility

Some students may be eligible for a boarding bursary or secondary school scholarship. Details of eligibility can be obtained from your present principal or through the Ministry of Education.

Scholarship

  1. The Argyle Scholarship is open to all current Year 10 boarders. It is awarded by the Hostel Committee to the Year 10 border who displays leadership qualities, is a positive citizen and has made an outstanding contribution to the hostel in his first two years of boarding.
  2. A Senior Boarding Scholarship may be awarded to a Year 12 or 13 student, who is able to demonstrate he would clearly benefit from being a boarder at Hamilton Boys’ High School, and that he is unable to access the same academic, sporting or cultural achievements at his local school.
