The school’s criteria for student selection for a place in Argyle House are:

• the primary consideration when awarding a place is to select students who have the greatest need and who have the ability to contribute most to hostel life;
• both the hostel and the school must confirm that each has the ability to meet the individual needs of the student.

In making selections, consideration must be given to the mix of students chosen for hostel places which reflects the community as a whole, maintains a balance of form levels and ages and contributes to a good mix of interests.

If a student meets all the initial criteria for consideration he will be invited to attend an interview with the Headmaster, Director of Boarding and Senior Master.

Following these interviews the first allocation of places for the following year is made in May.
